dedication of lucy wren

this past saturday was a big day for the family. it was lucy's dedication at church. the grandparents came into town and a few close friends were able to come. lucy was quite sleepy during the whole ceremony and was finally able to squeeze in a cat nap.

this year was all about rockets. rocket invitations, rocket cake, rocket favors, even rockets on the front steps of our house to countdown the blast off to larkin's 3rd birthday. fun was had by all. the grilled cheese was flowing and the birthday cake was quite tasty (well, at least the second one was, after a late night run to the grocery store for all-purpose rather than whole wheat flour. i'm sure the whole wheat birthday cake would be marketable, but folks, i simply don't have the time.) and, as if grilled cheese wasn't enough, a request for a quesadilla had us topping off the night in style, i mean, in a sombrero, i mean, in a stylish sombrero. enjoy...
